Sewing, Refashioning, Repurposing & Thrifting Through Life

About

Hey there fellow fashionistas, sewers, refinishers and thrifters! My name is Veronica (Vee for short).

I’ve recently gotten my sewing machine out again and started thrifting and sewing. I’m so excited. I hope to create some fabulous outfits to share and also to learn from all of you!

I’m a self-taught seamstress. I was so bad in high school that I had my mother do most of my sewing for me but I kept at it here and there over the years. When my kids were younger I did make some of their clothes. I especially loved making sundresses and jumpers for little girls. I think my boys only got the occasional PJs. I found I was more suited to home decor-curtains, draperies, pillows, etc.

I WISH I had gotten this bug a few years ago when I found myself suddenly unemployed with nothing to do all day but look for work. I could’ve relieved a lot of stress and saved a ton of money.

I NEVER thought I’d ever step foot into a thrift store. Yes, I admit that much but I have been surprised at some of the amazing finds.

At first I thought I’d buy items to refashion but the more I shop the more I’m finding things that fit me perfectly and require no alterations and redesigning and that’s all well.

Like many before me, I’ve made a personal vow to limit buying clothing from retail stores. To those who’ve been doing this for quite some time, I applaud you. You’re truly an inspiration to me personally. Fashion and beauty come from within. Every woman can radiate in her own style!

My posts will vary from thrifted finds and outfits and refashioned/restyled clothing. I will occasionally post about furniture refinishing projects that I’m working on too. It really is about restyling your WHOLE life.

You may use any of the ideas and photos on my blog. All that I ask is that you link back to me, please. I will do the same for you.

Happy Restyling!
